Yo Yo Bar & Restaurant, Rosse Street, off Saltaire Road in Shipley is set to host a new music night on the first Thursday of each month, starting in June. The event is called rpm@YoYo and features a mixture of live performances and recorded music from the 50s through to the 80s. Promoter and performer Andrew Brown said "We wanted to provide a venue where talented singers and musicians can perform in a relaxed environment. This is definitely not a jam night or karaoke! We also want to try and re-inspire anyone who, maybe, used to perform but has fallen out of the habit.

If there is anyone out there who would like to get involved, then please do get in touch." Julian Brown who, under the moniker The Duke, will be providing the vinyl aspect of rpm@yoyo, feels that "There is something special about a DJ playing vinyl. I guess that there is a time and a place for people churning out pre-programmed mp3s from a laptop but it just won't be here!"
