Music in the Park - 11 June 2006
Bradford Grammer School Concert Band

"Saltaire Bandstand” got off to a flying start with its first musical event of the season on Sunday afternoon 11th June in Roberts Park under the watchful eye of Sir Titus Salt’s statue. Guests were the Bradford Grammar School Concert with their conductor Dave Roberts, who entertained an audience of around 150 people on the lawns by the former bandstand, plus many others passing through the sunny park. Volunteers running the Half Moon Café were swamped with business from the thirsty throng. The ice-cream fridge was emptied of all content.

Music in Roberts ParkThe next event, organised by the Half Moon Steering Committee and chaired by the Saltaire Cricket Club, will be quite different. Guests on Sunday 25th June at 2.30pm will be Creek Valley Western Line Dancers. They intend to demonstrate their skills and to show the audience “how to do it” (with no obligation to join in), and they welcome all dancers to this free outdoor social.
