Hello, and welcome to this months' Victoria Hall newsletter. We're relishing the recent changing of the seasons, with the trees outside showing spectacular colours and an anticipation of Autumnal nights to come!

We've a whole host of exciting events coming up this month. To get you straight into the Autumn mood, come and join us (if you're not too afraid!) this Thursday (31st October) for the Victoria Hall Halloween Ball. With live music, magic, charity raffle, prizes for best fancy dress, a beastly buffet and a surprise performance, you’re guaranteed a Halloween night to remember. We’d love to see you there!

November also sees two brilliant live music gigs from Saltaire Live, an Antiques Fair from Rose & Brown and the annual CND Peace Fair, as well as the ever-popular tabletop sales, craft fair, Wurlitzer dance and a lecture from the Saltaire Decorative and Fine Arts Society. We've also our great range of regular classes for you to enjoy.

Halloween Ball
Thursday 31st October, from 7:30pm



The night will be hosted by Radio Aire's very own Matt Wilkins, live music from the renowned 'Dr Coxx' performing everyone's favourite covers and with Yorkshire's most talented magician Oliver Parker, as well as an amazing beastly buffet, professional photographer and a raffle with all proceeds going to Cancer Research. Look out for our terrifying props to truly make the night.

The event will also be documented by the T&A, and we'll have special guests from the Bradford Bulls and Bradford City teams.

Tickets are £20 (including buffet) and can be purchased from 'Don't Tell Titus' wine bar and restaurant on Victoria Road in Saltaire, or ring 01274 595633. 

Lunasa & support from Wilful Missing
Friday 1st November, from 7:30pm

Lunasa are the absolute masters of rhythm, Irish music's supreme instrumental band. With a powerhouse rhythm section giving the dynamic bedrock above which one of the most outstanding flute players in traditional music soars, with pipes and fiddle. With captivating energy they create one of the most dynamic and exciting sounds anywhere in traditional music, unmissable.

Saltaire Cricket Club Table Top Sale
Sunday 3rd November, 10am to 1pm


The Saltaire Cricket Club hold another of their popular table top sales, with stalls selling a wide variety of goods.

Bag a bargain, hire your own table or why not donate books, CDs and DVDs for the cricket club to sell on.

Admission is 50p.
The Saltaire Decorative and fine Arts Society (SDFAS)
Wednesday 6th November, from 2pm


This month's lecture: Windsor Castle- Fire, restoration and the Queen at Windsor . The fire at Windsor Castle in 1992 is described and illustrated, together with the remarkable restoration completed 5 years later, using watercolour paintings by the artist Alexander Crestwell, commissioned by the Queen.

Please Note: Visitors are welcome to attend three lectures before choosing to join the Society, subject to a nominal fee on admission. Applications for membership may be made on the day of the meeting.

Cinema Organ Society (COS) Dance
Saturday 9th November, from 7:30pm

The Cinema Organ Society hold one of their popular evening dances, with John Bowdler playing (Hosted, 50/50 Ballroom and Sequence).

Join us to sample the The Wurlitzer Cafe's selection of home baked cake slices, enjoy a drink and get your dancing shoes on!

Yorkshire Fairs Craft Fair
Sunday 10th November, 10am to 4pm


This fantastic arts, craft and gift fair is back at Victoria Hall.

Ideal for gifts that aren't available in high street shops, showcasing contemporary arts and crafts. One of our regular and popular events!

Admission is free.
LAU & support from Haiku Salat
Tuesday 12th November, from 7:30pm


Winners of the Best Group at the 2013 BBC Folk Awards, Lau use traditional folk structures as a base, with music that is original, complex and anything but run of the mill! Their increasing prominence has seen them touring internationally at major folk festivals, becoming one of the UK 's leading acts. Featuring Kris Drever playing the guitar and vocals, Aidan O'Rourke plays the fiddle and Martin Green, on the accordion.

Saltaire Cricket Club Table Top Sale
Sunday 17th November, 10am to 1pm


Its table top sale time again! The Saltaire Cricket Club returns with another of their sales.

There's a lot on offer and all proceeds go towards helping the club. You can hire your own table, pick up a bargain or donate old books, CDs and DVDs for the club to sell on.

Admission is 50p.
Yorkshire CND Peace Fair
Saturday 23rd November, 10am to 4pm

An ethical, fairtrade and organic shopping event. Around 80 stalls selling jewellery, ceramics, mosaics, woodturning, textiles, clothes & accessories. Also includes some vintage, homeware, cards & Christmas decorations, books, fair trade crafts from around the world, ethically traded food gifts, painting, photography, prints, natural cosmetics and a chance to try some massage taster sessions!

There is also delicious food from the PeaceCake Cafe and children's activities.

Admission is £1, Children free.
Christmas Fair
Thursday 28th November, 4pm to 8pm


Saltaire's finest Christmas fair will be held in Victoria Hall, selling a wide range of clothing, gifts, food and sack loads more!

Local shops all in one place, perfect for finding those unique presents.

Admission is £1, Under 12's free.
Antiques and Collectables Market
Saturday 30th November, 9:30am to 4pm


The House of Rose and Brown showcase all the best in vintage with their Antiques and Collectables Market in our lovely Evans Room.

With 20 stalls of antiques, vintage jewellery, furniture homewares and more, you'll find all your antique needs from the 1920s-1980s with lots of perfect gift ideas!

Admission is £1, Under 16's free.
