The Spirit of Bradford - BRADFORD CITY vs SWANSEA CITY
Match played: Sun 24 Feb 2013 - League Cup

The BBC reported: "Swansea City secured the first major trophy in their 101-year history as League Two Bradford City were thrashed in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley."

Alan Tyers (Telegraph): "A mismatch, sorry to say. The result was never in any doubt as Bradford stood off and let Swansea do their thing. That thing largely involved passing the ball around very calmly before some vicious, rapier thrusts from Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge, Angel Rangel and the like... Bradford fans never stopped singing though, and I'm sure when the dust settles they and their players will remember a wonderful League Cup run, and not today's hammering."

Prior to the match, local singer songwriter, Eddie Lawler recorded a rallying song for Bradford City, full of hope and optimism.

Eddie writes, "Here's a Chant for Bradford City, which in the spirit of sporting fairness includes a verse in Welsh for you to send to your friends down there. Or anywhere else for that matter. For the uninitiated, the team which won the FA Cup for Bradford City in 1911 were given a reception at the Midland Hotel.  That hotel now sports a bright mural entitled "The Spirit of Bradford."

Listen to the song: City Ditty - The Spirit of Bradford (Eddie Lawler)
