6 hour Life Drawing Marathon
Sunday 6th June 2010
The Glen Room, Victoria Hall, Victoria Road, Saltaire, BD18 3JS
A 6 hour marathon drawing session will take place in Victoria Hall, Saltaire, on Sunday 6th June. The idea behind the sessions is to create an intimate, relaxed, fun environment where people can develop and explore drawing from life. "What has become very apparent is the lack of opportunity for people to work for extended periods of time from a Life Model," said Jon Wiltshire who will be the tutor for the day. Jon is a professional artist and lecturer and has acquired the beautiful Glen Room in Victoria Hall where people will work from 2 models for durations of up to 3 hours.
Designed to provide particpants with an introduction to the skills required to draw from a life model, the workshop students will work from a variety of models and study a range of poses and will concentrate on drawing using a selection of different graphic materials. By the end of the workshop, those taking part will be able to make a line drawing, make a tonal drawing and have an awareness of the meaning of composition. [Mouse over image to enlarge}
The day will be split up into 2 parts, the first being a series of drawing exercises concentrating on approaches and techniques, building confidence. The second part of the day will be a 3 hour study from life.
The class is £30 per person, which is inclusive of materials and light refreshments. Please contact Jon Wilshire to reserve your place on the workshop.
