| Eight street signs to go!
SVS is looking for sponsors to complete a project begun by a founding member, Clive Woods. The aim is to strengthen Saltaire’s identity. Since 1999, distinctive blue-and-white street signs (based on the original pattern) have been slowly replacing black and white signs in the village. The project is supported by individuals and by the Council as part of the World Heritage Site management plan. Business sponsors would be welcomed.

Only eight signs still need sponsors – will you help with the countdown? Let’s turn those last few street corners blue-and-white as a memorial to Clive, and in time for the opening of a new Visitor Information Centre. Each sign costs £99 (SVS pays the entire amount to the Council sign shop).
Names available are Constance Street – 4 signs, Jane Street – 1 sign, Upper Ada Street – 1 sign, Whitlam Street – 2 signs.
