The Saltaire Archive - Everything About Saltaire

Shipley College, Exhibition Building, Exhibition Road, Saltaire, BD18 3JW

Running from 14 July to 14 August
10 am to 3 pm, Tuesday to Friday

A small part of the Saltaire Archive Exhibition at Shipley College

Every summer (for the past 5 years) Shipley College has staged an exhibition on the history of Saltaire.  There are books, photos, artefacts, DVDs and memorabilia to sift through.  It's fascinating stuff and everyone is welcome.

The exhibition has just opened and runs for a month through the summer, Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 3 pm.

Go to the Shipley College's Exhibition Building on Exhibition Road in Saltaire (just past Fanny's Ale House) and just tell the receptionist you are visiting the Saltaire Archive.  You'll be shown where to go and you will be warmly welcomed.

The exhibition gets stronger and more detailed every year as more history is unearthed about this fascinating place.  If you have a story to tell about Saltaire - if you live or lived here, work or worked here - we want to know!  It's the personal accounts of people that make the history of Saltaire all fit together.

Volunteers are also needed to assist with showing people around the archive and to listen (and jot down, if possible) the stories that people tell.  You don't have to know anything about Saltaire in particular - just lend a helping hand and a listening ear.

If you would like to volunteer, ring Sandi or Julie in the Resource Centre, telephone 01274 327222.
