ROBERTS PARK - WHAT'S GOING ON?

Following the successful bid for lottery funds by Bradford Council and Hilary Taylor Associates, and a spate of tree felling, it seems that the park has now been left to grow weeds. There's no additional information posted in the new information point in Roberts Park, apart from the old news that they've got the money. The Friends of Roberts Park have informed this website that there plans for a park bandstand have been drawn up by Hilary Taylor Landscape Associates (HTLA), and are exhibited in the Half Moon Cafe in Roberts Park.

HTA used this website to publish their plans during their bid for lottery money and we created interactive on-line questionnaires for them to gather feedback. Since then, HTLA have not been in touch with us directly, so we have formally requested the plans and the feedback questionnaire from them. We hope to be able to bring you an on-line version of them and we'll keep you updated as to Hilary Taylor's response.

At present, to see HTLA's plans for the bandstand and to pick up a questionnaire, you need to gain access to the Half Moon Cafe, which is limited. The Half Moon Cafe is open on Sunday 31 August, during the last Music in the Park event of this summer from 2 pm. There are also paper questionnaires to give feedback.

The Friends of Roberts Park pressed for consultation about the bandstand design as it is widely agreed that the bandstand should be sympathetic to the culture and heritage of Saltaire. During the final week of the Saltaire Festival (20 - 21 st September) the Friends of Roberts Park will have an information point in Roberts Park. You can contact Sharon Ashton of the FORP with your questions.
