The Launch of the book, Saltairy Tales,
written by Eddie Lawler

Saltairy Tales by Eddie Lawler, illustrated by Deborah M. Lawson

Local writer and musician, Eddie Lawler, has published a new book entitled "Saltairy Tales" which is illustrated in water-colours by Deborah M.Lawson.   Some of the "tales" (which are in verse) are also found in the acclaimed Saltairy Tales musical which premiered at The Saltaire Festival in 2006, but the content is by no means a mere "repeat". There is a mix of legend, history and fibs to make a product "suitable for all ages". (And for Christmas……)

The book will be launched at the Saltaire Festival 2007 and there will be two further presentations, as follows:

Monday 10th September at Saltaire Festival.

In the Half-Moon Café in Roberts Park, at 6.45 pm, with some music, and with the assistance of Angela Prince.  Admission £3, redeemable on purchase of the book – since the book costs £6, every two people attending will be entitled to one book to fight over. All festival details at www.saltairefestival.co.uk

At Ilkley Playhouse, (Denham Theatre) at 9pm, also with a little music.  Admission Free.   Make a day of it – Alan Bennett starts the day at 2.30, and I finish it.  Details on www.ilkleyliteraturefestival.org.uk

The new Saltaire Bookshop is David Ford's new venture and is located at 217 Bingley Road, just past the Tramshed at Saltaire Roundabout and opposite the petrol-station (phone 01274 594377) The launch will take place from 6.30 to 8 pm, admission free.
