Bradford District has a worldwide reputation for benefiting from a rich and varied historic environment that includes 5800 Listed Buildings, 59 Conservation Areas, 12 Historic Parks and Gardens and the Saltaire World Heritage Site. The district has a series of masterplan initiatives aimed to maximise the regeneration of the district over the next 10 – 15 years. The inclusion of the historic environment in the regeneration process is a high priority.

The Saltaire World Heritage Site was in December 2001. It is the legacy of Sir Titus Salt, a Bradford philanthropist who built the model settlement. Saltaire is now a magnificent example of conservation led regeneration acting as a magnet for visitors, residents, leisure and economic activity. A Management Plan and Consultation Network are already established for Saltaire.

We are looking for a unique person to be our World Heritage Site Officer, with the ability to develop and co-ordinate future projects. Educated to degree standard in a historic/planning/architectural related discipline, you need to be tactful, enthusiastic, a good communicator and listener and understand the intricacies of working in a World Heritage Site with its local, national and world partners. An eye for details and good design is essential. You will have 2 years experience in developing and implementing heritage related projects including production of original research material and presentations to external boards or committees.

Salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
