Yorkshire Alpaca Association Regional Group Meeting
Exciting and Entertaining. The latest news from the YAA as they enter the Great Yorkshire Show and receive a humorous talk on grassland management.
The latest meeting of the YAA has proved to be a resounding success with new members joining the group. The meeting was well attended and all the members present took part in lively discussions regarding the progress of the YAA as it goes from strength to strength.
The members were updated and canvassed on topics such as future speakers, website design, welfare issues and advertising for the members.
Members were informed that progress is being made with the organisation of shows in the Yorkshire area promoting the alpaca and associated products, further details will be released as they are known.
The YAA has kindly been provided with space at the Great Yorkshire Show to be held 10th -12th July 2007. This will be the first BAS demonstration at Yorkshires premier agricultural show. The YAA are now working hard to make this event a success and will hopefully develop the event into a full BAS Show over the forthcoming years. The YAA will be at the BAS stand to providing information and advice and supplying Alpacas and products for display. We will also be having guest speakers at the event to further publicise the alpaca, full details of which will be confirmed at our next meeting.
The highlight of the meeting was a talk from Richard Gwilliam on agronomy and grassland management. Mr Gwilliam who works on the Burton Constable Estate in North Yorkshire proved to be an entertaining speaker and kept the group engrossed with his knowledge and humorous delivery.
The next meeting will be the AGM at 1.00p.m. Saturday 31st March 2007 at Wetherby Town Hall.
