This is a request for any descendants of Alfred Allott to get in touch with us please, in the hope of learning more about his association with the Salts of Saltaire.
It was through his links with both Sir Titus Salt, & John Crossley of Halifax, that the destiny of Salt’s enterprises was, to a considerable extent, shaped.
Specifically, it was Alfred Allott who instigated land acquisitions in Tennessee & Georgia which led eventually to the creation of the Dayton Coal & Iron Co.
It is his involvement in the Dayton venture that has stimulated this current request for information.
