County Alpacas, Brighouse, West Yorkshire

Shaun and Julie are Alpaca Farmers who are right on our doorstep in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. After a chance meeting with some alpacas in Barnsley(!) they were captivated and are now developing a breeding herd of alpacas.

If you want to become an alpaca farmer, or own alpacas - Shaun and Julie are the ones to speak to. Should anybody wish to have alpacas at any event in Yorkshire please contact Shaun.

Shaun and Julie recently set up the Yorkshire Alpaca Association (YAA) and have also affiliated with the British Alpaca Society. Their aims include the improvement of the national alpaca fibre quality and the welfare of the alpaca.

The Yorkshire Alpaca Association held their latest meeting at Wetherby Town Hall on Saturday 13th January 2007. They are proving to be very popular meetings with a membership of about 40 and growing. Read the report from this meeting.
