Blooming bumps is a new venture based locally in Baildon, Saltaire's neighbouring village.

Claire, who runs Blooming Bumps says: "I'm sure I can speak for many women when I say that being pregnant was the most fantastic experience of my life, I loved every minute of it but had way too many of those 'I've got nothing to wear' days. Looking for the right maternity clothes can be a tiring and often expensive task, I found that whilst some of the high-street stores do now stock small ranges of maternity clothes these were mainly located in the larger city stores which meant a train journey and a day trailing around the shops.

"I went on a summer holiday when I was 7 months pregnant, I had so much trouble trying to find fashionable, reasonably priced clothes that I ended up borrowing normal clothes from friends who take a larger size than me.

"Every woman wants to look good, whether they are 9 weeks or 9 months pregnant - it is unfair that we should be made to pay higher prices for clothes that we may only wear for 5/6 months. I soon came to realise that I wasn’t the only woman in this situation so I started gathering second hand maternity clothes from friends and acquaintances and came up with the idea behind this website, I'm hoping that it allows pregnant woman the chance to purchase good quality, second hand clothes at reasonable prices."

Claire makes every effort to ensure that all the garments available on the website are of good quality, come from smoke free homes and are freshly laundered before being dispatched.
